Lending Library
The Assistive Technology Lending Library offers a broad selection of assistive technology devices and software designed to support the individual needs of pupils. In addition to providing equipment, we offer guidance and practical support for both staff and pupils.
Schools are able to borrow equipment on either a short- or long-term basis. Training and demonstrations are available for each item to ensure it is used effectively and confidently.
The standard loan period is up to four weeks. All equipment must be collected from and returned to Richmond Hill School before the start of any school holidays.
As part of the loan agreement, schools are required to complete and return the provided evaluation form.
Switch Controller & Switches
The SimplyWorks Energise is a feature rich Mains Controller allowing switch users to control up to two electrical appliances with wired or wireless switches.
Switch Kit - is a set of reliable, easy-to-use switches that offer great choice and value.
It includes different colours and styles, so users can pick what works best for them.
Perfect for teachers, therapists, and caregivers, this kit helps people interact with assistive technology, adapted toys, and communication devices more easily.
Big Mack Switches
The BIGmack - is an easy-to-use communication device that plays one recorded message. You can quickly record speech, music, or any sound onto it. When the large button is pressed, it plays the recorded message.
It’s great for helping users communicate, join in with stories, sing along to songs, or take part in activities by pressing the button at the right time.
Cosmo
The Cosmo Learning System (also called Cosmo by Filisia) - is an award-winning interactive tool that helps children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as those in early years education and therapy.
It uses light-up “Cosmo Dots” that connect to an iPad via Bluetooth and respond when touched. The iPad app includes over 35 fun, research-based activities designed to help develop thinking, movement, social, and emotional skills.
Please note you will need access to an iPad to use the Cosmo.
Stix Mindfulness
Stix Mindfulness - is an interactive, screen-free, and gamified mindfulness tool designed for children aged 5–12 to help manage emotions, reduce anxiety, and improve focus. Developed with psychologists, the device uses two handheld "remotes" that provide audio, haptic (vibration), and light feedback to guide kids through calming activities.
Scanmarker Pro
Scanmarker Pro - is a fully standalone, touchscreen reading device—no computer or mobile app required. It features built-in Wi-Fi for online language packs and Bluetooth for wireless earbuds, so you can read, listen, translate, and take notes anywhere.

Talk Pad 8

Vibe 12 +
Vibe 12⁺ - is the larger version of the Vibe 10. It has the same modern, lightweight design and partner display. It’s portable, with a strong case and a built-in handle for easy carrying.
The Vibe 12⁺ is suitable for both active and less active users. It’s easy to use thanks to the large touch screen and simple switch connections. You can also mount it to a wheelchair (DaeSSy or REHADAPT). The updated table stand allows you to position it comfortably and ergonomically on a desk or table.
