Spring 1
Welcome Back
Happy New Year and welcome back to another fun packed half term in Penguin Class. As you can see from the Curriculum map below we have lots of exciting things planned this half term. Our focus in English is on different nursery rhymes so your children may come home singing at least one of them. In Expressive Arts we will be learning some of the basic signs to the song "This is me" from The Greatest showman" so your children may go home singing that too!
One a different note, we've had a bit of a shuffle of staff around the school and as a result Clare has transferred to West site to work with the older children and she has been replaced in Penguin Class by Hannah Moules who is very excited to work with us. The rest of the staffing team remains the same and so I am also supported by Karen and Rachel.
If you have anything you wish to ask do not hesitate to get in touch.

Penguin Class Update

Welcome to Penguin class and welcome to Richmond Hill to those of us who joined us in September. I am David the Class Teacher and I am assisted by Clare, Karen, Anne and Rachel. We have an exciting first half term planned; we will be learning all about ourselves in our topic "all about me". We will be finding out what we like and dislike, finding out the names of different body parts and generally getting to know each other better.
In English we will be doing some work around the book "Farmer Duck" by Martin Waddell & Helen Oxenbury. It's a lovely book all about a poor duck who has to put up with a lazy farmer. If you want to watch an online version with your children you can find it read by Michael Rosen here:
In Maths we will be learning new skills and exploring challenges in new and creative ways to help the children learn effectively.
We have PE twice a week on a Wednesday and a Thursday, we keep the children's PE kits in school and we will send them home for washing at half term.
We've got lots of exciting things planned this half term just keep an eye on the home/school books for more information
If you want any more information on anything just message me via the home/school book.
